:: week one ::

We were also asked to do some drafts for a logo for the following business:

Company Name: Jumping Jax

Description: Trendy local restaurant noted for its wild but delicious entrees and mixed drinks.

Target Audience: Most likely 25 - 45 year old professionals looking for a taste experience and dynamic atmosphere.

Would like to portray this image: Trendy & Dynamic

For the ideas I have so far, I have just sort of done a free flow of nutty things that came to my mind. At this point I didn't really try to polish or finish a particuliar logo, but made some reference points for myself as to what might work when it came time to put the logo together. Notes of font and ding names were made and layered images saved. Elements can be easily rearranged and mixed & matched at this point. Nothing is cast in stone and steps should be easily retraceable.

My new system had to go in the shop for repairs for a couple of days this week [grumble, grumble] so I actually grabbed a sketch pad and pen and started doodling one afternoon out of sheer frustration. No, you don't get to see that scribbled mess [lol] but it did give me some ideas to work with when I was back up and running.

[My assorted *logo doodles* can be found here]

As you will see if you look at my doodle pages, I just decided to play with these at this point. Didn't get serious yet and try to pull things together. I have a feeling that these tough old instructors will make me behave and get businesslike in the coming weeks, so I see if I can get away with this form of misbehaving in week one.

Thanks for a great lesson full of one of my favorite things....giggles!
