Here at the Cathouse, there is a new slogan du'jour......

"No Negative Thinking!!"

What you say? Hasn't that been the state of mind you have been trying to achieve all along? Well, yes, but we mean it in a new way. No negative as in, no film, as in we just purchased a new digital camera and ran, do not pass go, do not collect $200 [although we should have thought about that part so we could purchase more accessories for the new toy] straight over to LVS and sign up for the new digital photography class. How convenient for us that it started the day after we picked up a new camera.

Actually, more than convenient as we are terrified of this silly, tiny silver rectangle as it sits on the desk laughing at us. That should prove humorous in and of itself to anyone who has had to put up with our madcap adventures in cyberspace over the last couple of years. *Farron* is usually fairly fearless about anything she tried in here. Has made a royal mess of a few of them and moved along [or run and hidden under a rock until they could be deleted] but afraid of a digital toy? That doesn't sound like her.

Problem is, she has always been a rather haphazard point & click kind of person with a regular camera. Furry globs abound on rolls of film that had to be purchased, then developed. She is also famous for shooting a roll and then leaving it in a drawer only to find it a couple of years later and wonder what in the heck it might be. If she bothers to have it developed at that point, chances are it is the same as always, more furry globs. What a waste of time and money. There are an old Pentax and an even older Minolta gathering furry globs of dust around here as we speak. She developed a rather negative attitude towards using them.

But!!! After loading the software on to her beloved little computer to view and save images from her new digital toy she ran outside to try a few shots...rain or not. There are still quite a few furry globs, but there are two wonderful buttons available. One on the camera called "erase" and another on the computer called "delete." No waiting or paying for negative images that have a negative impact on her ideas about trying a bit of photography. We have a feeling this is gonna be fun!!!

Enough jabbering! Links to her assignments will [hopefully] show some progress through the coming weeks. And furry globs will be sent where they belong swiftly and painlessly...off they go into oblivion.
