Playing on the Patio

[March 21, 2002]
My first attempt at non-automatic settings. Was playing with shutter speeds and macros here.

The Faces of Mt. Olivet

[March 23, 2002]
I was in withdrawals over "no cropping/editing allowed" so I did some crop onlys of faces of some of the interesting characters I met when attempting to photograph in tough lighting situations.

Tchaikovsky Renames The Class

[April 18, 2002...wee morning hours]
I say it was practice with flash/red eye removal and tooth whitening. Tchaikovsky had other comments on the events of the evening/morning.

A Visit to the Beach

[April 27-May 4, 2002]
This trip actually started the day after class ended, but I wanted to include it here. We had waaaayy too much fun, and I wouldn't have had a clue how to save some of those moments witn my new dig cam if it wasn't for this class...thanks, Ron!!!!!

Farewell from the Patio

[Early May, 2002]
A few quick shots of flowers starting to bloom when we returned from the beach.

Back In Class & Painting the Flowers

[September, 2002]
Couldn't resist playing with one of the shots of those wonderful peach tube flowers from Centennial Park. Not legal in class, but I can do as I please here. [wicked grin] This one was turned into a watercolor/pen & ink version.

Being Naughty: Nashville Skylines

[October, 2002]
Yeah, yeah, this is a photography class, not a graphics manipulation class, but I just love playing with these. Three doodles of the Nashville skyline from week three's series are seen here as digital drawings/paintings.

Once again, slow download for dial-up viewers.

October in the Smoky Mountains

[October, 2002]
We headed up to the Gatlinburg, TN and the Smoky Mountains for a few days right after class. Here are some assorted shots of the fall colors in Tennessee and North Carolina.

Christmas at the Beach

[December, 2002]
Another term has passed since the digital photography class and I've been busy and hardly made time to pick up the camera...until we decided to spend Christmas in Gulf Shores, AL. I may not be applying many of the priciples of class in these shots, but *my* principle of fun was applied to all of them. [smile]
